Improvements proposed for Maristow Street and Edward Street in Westbury

9.11.00am BST (GMT +0100) Sun 26th Jul 2009

Wiltshire Council is consulting on proposals further to improve the town centre area. Following the work on the Market Place Edward Street, Maristow Street and the High Street Rotunda are now being looked at.

A number of possible schemes are offered for people to comment on, but the general aim is to make the area more pleasant for pedestrians and shoppers.

Respondents so far have preferred to see the rotunda removed with some on-street parking provided, and a shared surface for cars and pedestrians along Maristow Street.

To comment on the proposals visit Westbury Library or contact the Town Council.
