Westbury bypass planning application approved

9.35.00am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 16th May 2007

Wiltshire County Council's regulatory committee has this morning approved Wiltshire County Council's application for the Westbury eastern bypass scheme.

The next stage is for the application to be referred to the Secretary of State. She decides whether or not a public enquiry is necessary. If she decides not to call for a public enquiry, then the planning permission is granted and the road can be built, subject of course to County having access to the money to pay for it.
