Paying by Phone for Parking

11.09.00am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 7th Jul 2010

As Wiltshire Council (WC) brings in higher parking charges throughout the county it's also moving ahead with 'virtual payments' for parking. This allows payments to be made for permits or 'pay and display' by phone or internet.

An Order has been made by WC in preparation for the introduction of Virtual Permits. The purpose of the Order is to provide provisions for on-street and off-street waiting and parking restrictions to allows for the purchase of Virtual Permits as an electronic from of parking ticket or permit. Virtual Permits will be introduced as an alternative to Residents Parking Permits, Season Tickets, Waivers etc and an alternative to the purchase of a parking ticket from a ticket machine.

The Order will come into operation as from 2nd August.

More details will be available from that date at;
