County Council refuses to help with bus to St Laurence

8.16.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 23rd Jun 2008

Wiltshire Council has refused to help children in the rural areas east of Bradford who go to St Laurence School. With increasing numbers of pupils choosing to go to St Laurence rather than Trowbridge or Melksham Schools it had been hoped that subsidised transport could have been made available.

So any school bus service would have to be run on a commercial basis at a cost of £15 per pupil per week. The bus would collect from Semington, Paxcroft Mead, Hilperton and Staverton and will only operate if there is sufficient interest.
