Hills told to clean up their act

8.01.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 16th May 2008

Hills Waste, who collect the black box recycling, have been told to tidy up their collection. Following numerous complaints from residents around the district including - leaving litter; throwing boxes around and breaking them; leaving emptied boxes in awkward positions and being rude to people who complained, I raised the question at the last West Wilts Council meeting.

In response Hills say staff are issued with clear instructions on how to behave, and supervisors are present to make sure standards are kept up.

Anyone whose box is overflowing can get a second one by calling 0845 603 2085. The same number can be used for complaints about the service.
